Jaguars' Chris Ivory: Getting up to speed

Ivory said recently that the transition from New York to Jacksonville has been a smooth one, the Florida Times-Union reports. "For the most part, it's been pretty smooth," Ivory said last month. "The only thing is trying to adjust to the new terminology. It's the same stuff, but new terminology. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around it and get more comfortable with it so I can just go out and play."

Analysis:

Ivory signed a two-year deal with Jacksonville after spending the previous three seasons in a Jets uniform. The veteran, who rushed for 1,070 yards last season, will split duties with second-year back T.J. Yeldon, and at this point it's unclear exactly how the workload will be shared. The expectation is that Ivory will technically be the No. 1 back, though the Times-Union suggests the number of carries could be close to even. It's also possible that, with two capable backs, the Jags opt to ride the hot hand on a series-to-series basis.
