Patriots' Edelman: Foot feels better every day

New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman says his surgically repaired foot continues to improve on a daily basis as training camp nears.

"I'm feeling a day better than yesterday, and I'm feeling a second better than the last second," Edelman said at his youth football camp this week, according to Chris Mason of the Boston Herald. "Hopefully when that time's up, that time's up."

Edelman broke his foot in November and missed the rest of the regular season, returning for the playoffs and performing up to his usual standards.

Edelman reportedly underwent an additional surgical procedure on his foot this offseason.

The Patriots are reportedly optimistic Edelman will be ready for camp and, despite his somewhat unenthusiastic account of his health, there's no reason to believe he won't be.
