The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has yet to take any action regarding Tom Brady's request to rehear the appeal reinstating his four-game suspension, reports Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, citing a source.

The New England Patriots quarterback made the initial request on May 23.

Brady could potentially be granted a rehearing before either a three-judge panel or a full court. The request may also be denied completely, forcing Brady to serve his ban.

If a rehearing was to happen, Brady would likely be able to push his suspension back again - if he can't get it overturned - and be available to play when the 2016 season opens.

If he is denied, Brady could ask the U.S. Supreme Court to take up the case and receive an order to stay the suspension until the Supreme Court comes to a decision on whether they would accept the case or not.

The Patriots open training camp on July 28.
