Titans' assistant: DeMarco Murray is a 'coach's dream'

Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray finds himself in an interesting situation once again.

After leaving the Dallas Cowboys in 2015 on the heels of a breakout 1,800-yard season, Murray languished under the coaching staff of the Philadelphia Eagles for a season.

Now he's battling Heisman Trophy winner and second-round pick Derrick Henry for carries, a prospect he didn't envision when he was traded to the Titans in March, and his coaches are raving about his positive attitude and leadership skills.

"He's a coach's dream," Titans running backs coach Sylvester Croom said, according to Jim Wyatt on the team's official website.

It's good news for the Titans as they try to develop Henry alongside Murray. Though he was disgruntled with his workload and the Eagles' game-planning last season, Murray should be able to help Henry develop mentally.

"From a physical standpoint, his football talent is obvious," Croom said of Henry. "Now, the mental toughness, the mental discipline, how to truly be a professional football player - that is the key and it will determine how much success he is going to have and how much he'll be able to help our football team. The talent is there, but until a rookie goes through the first season, he really doesn't know what it takes to be a pro at this level."
