The Buffalo Bills may be taking a "look into" replacing Ralph Wilson Stadium, but they certainly aren't in a hurry to build a new facility.

Roger Goodell commented that the "Bills have to stay up with" league facilities in early June and owner Terry Pegula responded, saying the team would look into a potential new stadium.

According to team president Russ Brandon, no plans have been made to begin plans on a new facility.

"We have not met and discussed anything relative to all the noise," Brandon told Vic Caruccci of the Buffalo News about the New Stadium Working Group. "We have not met since April (2014), right after (previous team owner) Ralph (Wilson) passed away, on a new stadium.

"We're going to take a very slow, quantitative, objective view on what makes sense."

The group was formed over two years ago and includes state and local political leaders. County Executive Mark Polancarz has been skeptical that the pressure from the league has more to do with concern over profits than the welfare of the Buffalo community.

Brandon stressed that cooperation from Polancarz and other local political figures is an important factor when making any decisions about the stadium.

"Every renovation we've been through could not have happened without the partnership of the county and the state, and any future renovation, retrofit or new stadium will require having partnership with the county and the state," Brandon said. "Mark (Polancarz) and the county have been great partners with us and very supportive of the renovation, and we would not have gotten to the finish line without Mark's support in the past. And, at the appropriate time, we'll sit down and talk about what we need to look at.

"In any major initiative, you're going to need your partnership with the county, city, state, whoever it may be. And getting everyone aligned is always the art. So we'll just cross that bridge when we have to cross it."

Ralph Wilson Stadium is among the oldest in the NFL, opening in 1973 and undergoing several major renovations between 1984 and 2011.
