Lions' Andre Roberts: Signs one-year deal with Lions

Roberts signed a one-year deal with the Lions on Monday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Roberts was released by the Redskins last month after hauling in 47 passes over 25 games with the team. The 28-year-old drew considerable interest as a free agent, and he'll now head to Detroit, joining a receiving corps that must make up for the loss of Calvin Johnson to retirement. Roberts figures to compete for a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver spot with the likes of Corey Fuller, Jeremy Kerley and TJ Jones. The Lions are also reportedly interested in adding veteran Anquan Boldin, who will visit with the team Monday.
