Broncos' Ware could sit out until training camp with back woes
The back problems that have troubled Denver Broncos rush linebacker DeMarcus Ware in recent seasons could force him to the sideline until training camp, head coach Gary Kubiak told reporters Tuesday.
Missing OTAs likely wouldn't be a big deal for a savvy veteran like Ware, but it's worrying that his back still hasn't fully healed.
Ware was limited to 11 games last season because of his back, but managed to play without significant limitations in the Broncos' run to a Super Bowl title. He was a major force opposite Von Miller.
Some speculated the 34-year-old Ware might retire after winning the ring that had eluded him, but he re-signed on a one-year, $6.5-million contract and will likely play a situational pass-rushing role - provided his back allows it.
