Jenkins: Eagles' locker room is confident in Bradford as starter

Sam Bradford's attempt to force a trade away from the Philadelphia Eagles hasn't apparently diminished his standing in the team's locker room.

Bradford has faced heavy criticism for his actions this offseason, however, safety Malcolm Jenkins emphasized Thursday during an appearance on NFL Total Access that Bradford still has the support of his teammates.

"I think everybody - in the locker room at least - is very excited and confident having Sam as our quarterback for this season," Jenkins said, according to Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. "I think everybody is looking to see what Carson (Wentz) can do, and so far, he's been playing really well the two weeks he's been here. We can definitely see that potential in him.

"But I think right now, barring anything crazy or anything changing over the next few months, I think everybody is very comfortable with Sam and looking forward to him falling into that role."

Bradford skipped several weeks of workouts, as he tried to engineer a move. However, after no deal materialized and with the draft coming and going, he returned to the team.

The 28-year-old is still considered the Eagles' starter, despite the trade demand, and Jenkins said the rest of the team is focused on the upcoming season.

"I think we're all back to work," Jenkins said. "He came back in time for OTAs when we were doing football stuff anyways, so really the only thing he missed were a few workouts."
