Breshad Perriman is finally on track for his first NFL action.

The 2015 first-round pick is participating at the Baltimore Ravens' OTAs this week, making his long-awaited return to the practice field after sitting out his entire rookie season with a knee injury.

"I feel real good," Perriman told reporters Thursday. "It feels amazing. I feel like a kid in a candy store, so I'm very happy."

Perriman was first forced to the sidelines early in training camp last year with what was later revealed as a PCL issue. The Ravens kept him on the roster for the first two months of the season before multiple setbacks eventually saw him placed on injured reserve.

Though frustrations could've worn on all those involved, Perriman believes he's only benefited from the process.

"I feel much stronger," Perriman said. "I went through a lot last year and it made me a better player and a better person."

If fully cleared for training camp, the Central Florida product can be expected to compete with fellow receivers Steve Smith, Mike Wallace, and Kamar Aiken for a prominent role.

His ability in the vertical game could be a particularly valuable addition for Joe Flacco and a Ravens offense that struggled to push the ball downfield last season.
