Buccaneers' Donteea Dye: In the mix for third receiver competition this summer

Dye will be one of several candidates vying for the Bucs' third receiver role in training camp, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

Analysis:

The soon-to-be second-year wideout received an extended opportunity in 2015 after veteran Louis Murphy's season-ending knee injury in Week 6, but provided mixed results. Dye struggled to develop consistent chemistry with quarterback Jameis Winston, as evidenced by the fact that he only secured 11 of the 30 targets he saw. The speed is certainly not in question, as the 22-year-old posted a 4.45 40-yard dash at his pro day last year, and also ran one season of indoor track and field at Division III Heidelberg.
