Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson is set to undergo shoulder surgery, and it appears he aggravated the pre-existing injury while participating in a non-contact drill.

Lawson was making a swim move on a tackling dummy when he exacerbated the shoulder problem that many teams felt would require immediate surgery prior to the draft, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The news might indicate the Bills didn't make a pre-determined decision to have Lawson undergo the surgery prior to drafting him, as they've insisted all along.

Still, Schefter reports, the surgery is expected to sideline the rookie five-to-six months.

The Bills have had a difficult Monday, as news leaked that star wide receiver Sammy Watkins underwent surgery on a broken foot in April. His timeline for return is being reported as anywhere from six weeks to six months.
