Bears' Jordan Howard: Seen as change-of-pace back

New offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains sees Howard as a change-of-back back, the Bears website reports.

Analysis:

Loggains realizes that Howard and Jeremy Langford have different skill sets and will be used as such in the offense, but with Howard -- who profiles as a physical north/south runner -- starting out in a change-of-pace role. He also suggested that the player with the hot hand could get carries based on how each game plays out. In his interview about the offense, Loggains left Ka'Deem Carey out of the discussion, which indicates that Howard could be behind only Langford when the preseason depth chart is set.
