Myles Jack calls draft slide 'humiliating'

Before suffering from a season-ending knee injury, former UCLA linebacker Myles Jack was among the most anticipated players expected to enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

After admitting he may need microfracture surgery in the future and his long-term health was a question mark, Jack slid from a projected top-five draft pick to a second rounder.

"It was, honestly, humiliating. It was embarrassing having to sit there, and afterwards walking out, having my girl to my left, my mom to my right, my grandmother to the right of her and having to look at them, it was a tough feeling," Jack told "The Rich Eisin Show" on Monday. "It wasn't a good night, truthfully."

Jack watched from a Chicago hotel room as he was selected 36th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who arguably won the 2016 draft, and he expects to take that feeling of humiliation and turn it into motivation.

"I can't wait to contribute, I can't wait to play this game and just prove people wrong," said Jack. "It's all motivation and I actually appreciate it. It's made me hungry. It's grounded me a lot."

The young linebacker is expected to be a major contributor to the Jaguars' defense in 2016, along with fellow rookie Jalen Ramsey. Jack admitted he had hoped to be drafted by the Jaguars all along.
