Titans decline Chance Warmack's 5th-year option

The Tennessee Titans announced Monday they have decided to decline the fifth-year option on guard Chance Warmack's contract.

General manager Jon Robinson released a statement saying that while the team is declining Warmack's option, he could still be part of the team's long-term plans:

The Titans drafted Warmack with the 10th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft with the hopes that he'd reinvigorate a struggling offensive line. However, despite playing in all but two regular-season games over the past three seasons, Warmack has failed to live up to his lofty draft status.

It was always unlikely they'd pick up the option, as doing so would have meant paying Warmack just under $12 million in 2017.

With few other options at guard, however, Warmack still projects as a starter in 2016.
