Report: Cowboys, Browns inquiring about additional 1st-round picks

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Might the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns have their sights set on a quarterback of the future?

Currently scheduled to be put on the clock at No. 4 and No. 8, respectively, both teams are out of range to select one of this year's top two signal-callers.

However, each has inquired about about acquiring an additional pick toward the end of the first round, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Several signal-callers could come into play at that stage, but Schefter suggests the Cowboys and Browns could be eyeing Paxton Lynch.

The Memphis product is widely expected to be the third quarterback off the board after Jared Goff and Carson Wentz. Among the quarterbacks also likely to be available late in the first round are Connor Cook and Christian Hackenberg.
