Seahawks trade up to select DT Quinton Jefferson in 5th round

The Seattle Seahawks have selected defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson out of Maryland in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
With Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett on the outside, Jefferson gives Seattle an inside presence on the defensive line who can work in as a rotational player to help stop the run.

Strengths
- Uses swim and counter moves with great effectiveness.
- Can come off the snap with low pad level and make initial penetration with leverage into the gap. (NFL.com)
- Speed and athleticism are ideal. Can use agility to get past blockers consistently.
Weaknesses
- Medical question marks will have to be resolved as he suffered a torn ACL in 2014.
- Inconsistent motor. Gets sidetracked when not rushing the passer.
- As play develops, pad level rises, allowing him to be redirected with punches under his armpit. (NFL.com)
