Chiefs add developmental QB Kevin Hogan in 5th round
Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports
The Kansas City Chiefs have selected quarterback Kevin Hogan out of Stanford in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Hogan is one of the draft's most accurate passers, but lacks the arm strength of a starting quarterback. He excels in the mental side of the game, which makes him an ideal fit for head coach Andy Reid, who asks a lot from his passers in that area. He will likely battle it out with other young passers Aaron Murray and Tyler Bray for the right to back up Alex Smith.
