A.J. Pollock (elbow) hopes to return at some point this season
Pollock (elbow) hopes to return at some point this season, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. "That's going to be my goal," said Pollock earlier Saturday.
Analysis:
The rising star outfielder fractured his already-injured right elbow on a slide into home plate Friday and the injury will require surgery. There won't be any sort of definitive timetable on Pollock's potential return until after he undergoes the procedure on his elbow, so Pollock's comments Saturday should be taken with a grain of salt at this point. The Diamondbacks have begun giving Chris Owings a crash course in center field in hopes of potentially using him there as Pollock's replacement.
