VIDEO: Harden sleepwalks on D, wakes to see McDermott blow open layup
Thomas B. Shea / USA TODAY Sports
We've seen James Harden fall asleep on defense before. It happens. This, however, is something else.
Harden seemed to be in some sort of hypnotized trance, standing idly by as Doug McDermott slipped right past him to get right under the hoop unattended. From there, he actually took two steps forward, with nobody in front of him, before finally realizing the spot McDermott was supposed to be in was empty.
Fortunately for Harden, McDermott - who couldn't seem to believe how open he was - botched the easy layup.
Maybe this is a new tactic?
