UNLV sophomore Dwayne Morgan has asked for his release and intends to transfer, reports ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
The former top-40 recruit is hoping to find a school closer to his Baltimore home, where his mother is dealing with health issues, according to Borzello.
Morgan, a 6-foot-8 forward, averaged 5.5 points for the Runnin' Rebels this season while logging 19.3 minutes per game. He started 22 contests, but was shut down at the end of the season after dislocating his shoulder toward the end of February.
