Michael Cammalleri's re-emergent season has now officially been derailed.
The New Jersey Devils volume scorer, who produced at nearly a point-per-game pace before injuring his right hand or wrist and suffering a setback in late January, has been shut down for the season.
Cammalleri incurred another setback about a month later, and has been unable to successfully rehab the ailment.
He'll finish the season four points shy of his total output from a season ago in 26 fewer games. And with 0.90 points per game, he ranks 15th in the NHL.
He's not expected to need surgery.
