Top 5 goals from MLS Week 3

Week 3 of MLS action produced a handful of pretty goals, though there were also plenty of penalties and simple tap-in goals, too.

Here are the five goals we rank best among the bunch from Week 3 of the 2016 MLS season:

5. Brad Davis plays to the whistle, curls in a winner

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Brad Davis did his best Arjen Robben impression against Toronto FC, cutting in from the left-hand side of the box before unleashing a left-footed curling shot past the 'keeper. And, while he was helped on by a no-call from referee Baldomero Toledo (seriously, that was a foul on Justin Morrow ...) Davis celebrated his game-winning goal all the same.

4. Maxi Urruti smashes home a late volley

Up 1-0 over the Montreal Impact with only a handful of minutes left in the match, FC Dallas forward Maxi Urruti finished the job with this brilliant volley, born of a goal kick from his own 'keeper, Jesse Gonzalez.

3. Yura Movsisyan's nostalgia-fueled solo run

Welcome back, Yura Movsisyan. The Armenian striker re-opened his MLS account on Saturday, scoring against the Portland Timbers on a brilliant half-field solo run to level the score to push the team's advantage to 2-0. And, while the game ended 2-2, RSL fans will be pleased with the sight of some vintage Movsisyan action.

2. Ivanschitz 'fires' home free-kick goal

The Seattle Sounders may be bottom of the table with no wins and only two goals this season, but that doesn't take away from the beauty of this free kick by Andreas Ivanschitz. This powerful shot against the Vancouver Whitecaps was made even better by the two giant bursts of fire behind the goal, too.

1. Felipe's chaotic curler sparks the comeback

This dazzling strike from the equally dazzling Felipe Martins is made even more impressive when considering the circumstancing leading up to it; the New York Red Bulls lost three players to hamstring injuries, then went back-and-forth with the Houston Dynamo on the scoresheet. They looked set for defeat before Felipe scored this goal, then secured the win with this free kick.
