Cowboys haven't contacted Greg Hardy during free agency

It's becoming apparent that the Dallas Cowboys aren't interested in signing Greg Hardy for a second stint with the club.

Hardy signed a one-year, $11.3-million deal with the Cowboys last April, but was suspended for the team's first four games after violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Although Hardy was productive coming off the edge, recording six sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception in 12 games, the Cowboys evidently deemed he's not worth the perpetual on- and off-field distractions.

"A free agent we haven't had discussions with, if you want to say that,'' Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said of Hardy to David Moore of The Dallas Morning News.

Jones also revealed that the Cowboys weren't close to signing Eric Weddle. Weddle was one of the premier free agents available, but the safety chose the Baltimore Ravens.

"I guess you could say he's high profile, but we weren't close to the numbers he signed at." Jones said. "We weren't.''
