Walking treatment table Yoann Gourcuff scored his first league goal for Rennes in exactly a decade, heading home an effort beyond Marseille shot-stopper Steve Mandanda to hand the home side an early advantage.
The former French international's return to the Bretons club he joined as a 15-year-old in 2001 has been anything but straightforward, as a slew of injuries have sidetracked the former Lyon standout's first-team football comeback.
Mandanda, widely considered one of Ligue 1's best 'keepers, can thank his defenders for their ineptitude, as Fallou Diagne and Ousmane Dembele both scored within 14 minutes to triple Les Rouges et Noir's advantage.
