Free-agent defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins has agreed to terms with the New York Jets, his agency confirmed Wednesday.
The agreement, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, is a two-year pact worth $7 million.
A deal between the Jets and Jenkins first appeared to be in the works Friday, but there was evidently still work to be done over the weekend.
Jenkins, who started 15 games for the Chicago bears this past season, now adds further depth to an already stacked Jets three-man front.
Along with nose tackle Steve McLendon, who also agreed to a free-agent deal Wednesday, Jenkins should be among the first to rotate into the game behind starters Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, and Leonard Williams.
