Georgia running back Nick Chubb is progressing well from a devastating torn PCL suffered in October.

"We're excited about where he is," head coach Kirby Smart said Tuesday, according to Seth Emerson of The Atlanta Journal Constituion. "And he's progressed really well."

Chubb will not be able to participate in spring practice, however, and it's not known whether he'll be available for summer sessions. His status for September is still up in the air, too.

The junior has already started running and cutting after slowly regaining his ability to walk on his own in December.

"We're working tremendously hard. He is dead on schedule," Smart said. "Ron (Courson, the head athletic trainer) would probably say he's ahead of schedule."

One of the most dominant rushers in college football, Chubb had 747 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore season prior to the injury.
