It's been 14 years since Anderson Silva last fought in his hometown of Curitiba, Brazil, and he's determined to be there when the UFC visits on May 14.

This past February, "The Spider" fell short against Michael Bisping in a thrilling five-round clash at UFC Fight Night 84 in Bisping's native country of England. Now, with UFC 198 set to take place at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, it's Silva who is craving some of that hometown glory, according to physical trainer Rogerio Camoes.

"I talked to him yesterday and he told me that he's still negotiating to fight in Curitiba, and the final decision hasn't been made," Camoes told Sherdog.com. "He still believes he will fight in Curitiba, and everybody is cheering for that.

"Imagine how it would be, the first UFC in a soccer stadium in Brazil with the biggest national idol fighting at home. Of course, Anderson would be able to pack that stadium with 45,000 people easily."

The 40-year-old Silva has expressed a desire to return to a more regular schedule after being limited by injuries and a drug suspension for the last few years. He plans to fight at least three times this year.

Camoes mentioned Gegard Mousasi and Tim Kennedy as two middleweights who would make sense for Silva. Kennedy, in particular, has been all but begging for the UFC to match him up with the former champion.

"Either of those could be great fights," Camoes said. "Actually, the fight with Bisping woke up (Silva). Anderson was used to fighting three times a year for his entire career. The last three years, he fought only once per year. Now, he wants to return to the routine of three fights per year, and he feels the opportunity to fight in his home, Curitiba, would be unique for him."
