Report: Titans finalizing deal to acquire Eagles' Murray

DeMarco Murray's time in Philadelphia is reportedly coming to an end after just one disappointing season.

The Tennessee Titans are finalizing a trade to acquire the star running back from the Eagles when the new league year begins Wednesday, league sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Murray's agency confirmed that both a trade agreement and a new contract have indeed been agreed upon to send its client to Tennessee.

The 2014 rushing champion landed with the Eagles on a high-priced free-agent contract last offseason, but it wasn't long before it became clear Murray wasn't a fit for Chip Kelly's offense.

He was in and out of the starting lineup throughout the year, finishing with just 702 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Though Doug Pederson has since taken over as head coach in place of Kelly, bringing with him a new offensive system, Murray now gets a completely fresh start in joining a Marcus Mariota-led attack in Tennessee.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, takes yet another step in ridding itself of the players brought in during Kelly's first offseason with control of player personnel.

Reports surfaced earlier Monday indicating that the Eagles have agreed to a trade that will send linebacker Kiko Alonso and cornerback Byron Maxwell to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for draft-pick compensation.

Details on the return for each trade have yet to be disclosed.
