Report: Eagles willing to trade running backs Murray, Mathews for right price

The Philadelphia Eagles may be having a bit of a fire sale when it comes to their high-priced free-agency class of a year ago.

The team has made it known that running backs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews are both available in trade for the right price, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Murray signed a five-year, $40-million free-agent contract last offseason. Mathews signed for three years and $11 million.

Former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly probably thought he had the makings of a dominant rushing attack, but the Eagles struggled to move the ball on the ground in 2015. Murray's season was particularly disappointing.

Now, with new head coach Doug Pederson in town, it appears the Eagles are looking to build a new ground attack from the ground up.

The Eagles are also reportedly in talks with the Miami Dolphins to trade cornerback Byron Maxwell, to whom the Eagles gave a $63-million deal in free agency last year.
