Toronto Blue Jays minor league pitcher Andrew Case has been suspended 50 games without pay for failing to take a drug test, Major League Baseball announced Monday.
Case, a 23-year-old right-hander for the Single-A Vancouver Canadians, will begin serving his suspension at the start of the 2016 Northwest League season.
The Blue Jays farmhand pitched to a 3.10 ERA with 44 strikeouts across 52 1/3 innings of relief in 2015.
Signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2013, Case owns a 2.80 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 63 minor-league appearances.
