Saturday night against the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center, San Antonio Spurs veteran big man Tim Duncan recorded the 3,000th block of his career, becoming just the fifth player in NBA history to reach the milestone.

NBA All-Time Block Leaders

Rank Player Blocks
1 Hakeem Olajuwon 3,830
2 Dikembe Mutombo 3,289
3 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 3,189
4 Mark Eaton 3,064
5 Tim Duncan 3,000
6 David Robinson 2,954
7 Patrick Ewing 2,894
8 Shaquille O'Neal 2,732

"The Big Fundamental" joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players with over 26,000 points, 14,000 rebounds, and 3,000 rejections.

Duncan is also the only player of the top five to never lead the NBA in blocked shots for a season. His highest output in that department came in 2002-03 when he averaged 2.9, however, Theo Ratliff edged him out ever so slightly at 3.2.
