New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh is being held off the ice with a jaw contusion and a neck spasm, the club announced Saturday.
The captain was injured by an elbow to the head from Toronto Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov, who was suspended three games for his actions.
McDonagh was playing in his second game since returning from a concussion, but appears to have avoided that particular injury this time around.
