New York Islanders defenseman Calvin de Haan left Monday afternoon's game against the Detroit Red Wings during the second period with a lower-body injury, and head coach Jack Capuano didn't hide the fact he's worried about the blue-liner.

"He’s a tough kid so when he's not able to go back in the game, it's a concern for sure," he said, per Newsday's Arthur Staple. "We don't know how long it will be."

Capuano added that the 24-year-old will be evaluated Tuesday. It is unclear how he suffered the injury.

De Haan has played in all 55 Islanders games this season, recording a goal and eight assists while ranking fourth on the team in ice time, averaging 20:44 per night. He currently ranks fourth in the league in shot blocks with 139.
