Wild name John Torchetti interim head coach, replacing fired Mike Yeo

The Minnesota Wild have named John Torchetti interim head coach after firing Mike Yeo on Saturday.

Torchetti joins the Wild after serving as head coach of the AHL's Iowa Wild since November 2014.
The 51-year-old has 31 years of hockey experience, and has held coaching positions with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, and Atlanta Thrashers.

He will get his first opportunity behind the bench on Monday when Minnesota attempts to snap an eight-game losing skid against the Vancouver Canucks.
