Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon put on a show for the ages at Saturday's NBA Slam Dunk contest, and they caught the attention of Major League Baseball's sultan of slam, Dee Gordon.

LaVine and Aaron Gordon went toe-to-toe in the final round, with LaVine unleashing an array of unique dunks to earn four consecutive perfect scores to defend his title.

The Miami Marlins speedster took to Twitter to express his overwhelming emotions while watching the event:

Dee Gordon, who stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 170 pounds, doesn't have the prototypical frame of a professional basketball player, but that didn't stop him from dunking on teammates during postgame interviews last season.

The second baseman also dunked on fans as a means to rally votes for last year's All-Star Game:

The 2015 National League batting champion is all smiles these days after inking a five-year, $50-million extension with the Marlins last month.
