When Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel said his city would take on a new nickname while hosting the 2017 NHL Draft, the Detroit Red Wings couldn't help but laugh.

Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader took it one step further, questioning Emanuel's hockey knowledge.

Fans echoed the Red Wings' sentiments in the replies to the Blackhawks' tweet.

"Hockeytown" is a registered trademark filed by the Red Wings in 1995, which explains why Blackhawks social media staff transcribed it as two words.
