Bojan pens long-term deal with Stoke City
Bojan Krkic has signed fresh terms with Stoke City, tying him to the Staffordshire outfit until the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
Bojan joined the Potters from Barcelona for an undisclosed fee in 2014 and quickly became a favourite of the Britannia Stadium faithful due to his hard-working and, at times, dazzling performances in red-and-white stripes.
"I am very happy and motivated," Bojan said. "Stoke City gave me the opportunity to play in the most competitive league in the world, the Premier League, and I have only words of gratitude for their trust and for the way they have treated me since the first day I arrived to England."
The Spaniard began his career at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, breaking into the first team in the 2007-08 season alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, and Ronaldinho, before moving to Roma in 2011.
Bojan struggled with injuries in the Italian capital, however, and re-signed for Barcelona where he was promptly given an opportunity to reignite his career in a season-long loan with Ajax in 2013-14.
The 25-year-old has grabbed five goals and an assist over 18 starts in the Premier League this term since overcoming a cruciate knee ligament injury in August. Alongside Xherdan Shaqiri and Marko Arnautovic, Bojan has formed one of the most feared attacking triumvirates in the division.
Stoke looks to arrest a poor run of form when it makes the trip to Bournemouth on Saturday.
