The New York Giants are parting ways with one of their big free-agent signings from 2014.
Offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz was released Wednesday, the team announced. Releasing Schwartz saves the Giants $3 million in cap space.
Schwartz inked a four-year, $16.8-million deal with the Giants in 2014 after stints with the Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, and Kansas City Chiefs. He was limited to two games in 2014 due to a toe injury and landed on injured reserve this past season with a fractured leg after starting the first 11 games.
