Carolina Panthers wide receiver Philly Brown has been ruled out for the remainder of Super Bowl 50 after suffering a concussion in the third quarter.

Brown sustained the injury making an incredible catch for a 42-yard gain, heading directly for the sideline before the team later announced that his return was considered questionable.

The 24-year-old had four receptions for 80 yards at the time of his exit, easily making him the Panthers' leading receiver on the day.

Rookie Devin Funchess and veteran Jerricho Cotchery will now take on a more substantial roles opposite Ted Ginn as the Panther look to mount a late comeback.
