Vancouver Canucks defenseman Yannick Weber has been reassigned to AHL Utica.
Analysis:
Weber, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, was waived Friday as Dan Hamhuis (face) is expected to return from to the lineup Saturday. Since he went unclaimed off the wire, Weber will stay within the Canucks' organization, albeit in the lower ranks. The Swiss defenseman hasn't played in the minors since the 2013-14 campaign, appearing in seven games with the Comets.
