Stars' Spezza to miss at least 3 games with upper-body injury

USA TODAY Sports / Kim Klement

The Dallas Stars have placed center Jason Spezza on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, general manager Jim Nill announced Friday.

The roster move is retroactive to Thursday's game in Colorado, where Spezza suffered the injury, and he'll miss at least the next three games.

Spezza ranks third on the Stars with 18 goals, and is tied for fourth with 40 points through 52 games this season. He'll be eligible to return Feb. 13 against Washington should he receive medical clearance by that point.

Radek Faksa was recalled from the AHL to fill Spezza's spot on the active roster.
