Report: Liverpool target Alex Teixeira opts for €49.5M China move
Shakhtar Donetsk's versatile attacker Alex Teixeira is set to follow a legion of stars joining the cash-rich Chinese Super League.
The Brazilian, who was targeted by Liverpool during the January transfer window, is poised for a €49.5-million (£38-million) move to Jiangsu Suning, according to Sky Sports News.
Teixeira will link up with Ramires at the east China club, who left Chelsea for a reported £21 million last week, and will compete against the likes of Jackson Martinez, Fredy Guarin, and Gervinho, all of whom moved to the division from leading European clubs recently.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke of his disappointment in failing to acquire Teixeira on Monday, but there were hopes that a renewed approach could be made in the summer. The 26-year-old will instead be lining up for Jiangsu Suning when its Super League campaign kicks off in March.
