Martin Caceres will be going under the knife.
A series of tests confirmed that Caceres suffered a torn right Achilles tendon Wednesday during Juventus' victory over Genoa, and he will therefore undergo surgery on Friday.
As Ben Gladwell of ESPN FC points out, Caceres, who exited the pitch on a stretcher and in tears, may have played his last fixture for Juventus. The Uruguayan defender is out of contract this summer and is set to miss up to eight months.
Caceres has only made six Serie A appearances for Juventus this season as he finds himself behind Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, and Andrea Barzagli in the Old Lady's pecking order.
