Ducks' Fowler to return from month-long absence vs. Sharks

Kelvin Kuo / USA TODAY Sports

Cam Fowler will return to the Anaheim Ducks lineup Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks, head coach Bruce Boudreau announced.

The 24-year-old defenseman missed over a month of action due to a sprained knee, last playing Dec. 27 against the Philadelphia Flyers. He will likely return to his spot beside veteran blue-liner Kevin Bieksa.

The return of Fowler, who has 12 points in 34 games this season, means 20-year-old Shea Theodore will remain with the AHL's San Diego Gulls.

Boudreau also announced that Frederik Andersen will get the start in goal for the Pacific Division battle.
