Raptors' Lowry, Casey after Denver loss: 'I'll wipe my ass with this stat sheet'

After riding into Monday's game with an 11-game win streak, the Toronto Raptors got their tails handed to them by the Denver Nuggets.

Whether it was due to the thin air or the malaise that accompanies a team on its first road game following a long home stand, the Raptors had absolutely nothing in the tank in their 112-93 loss.

Kyle Lowry relayed a bit of wisdom from Raptors coach Dwane Casey postgame, which perfectly summed up his team's dismal showing.

The Raptors allowed the Nuggets to shoot 54.2 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent from deep, while making just 37.2 percent of their shots and missing 12 free throws.

Lowry, who's slated to start his second straight All-Star Game in two weeks, had an uncharacteristic showing in which he was 3-of-12 from the floor and 3-of-8 from the free-throw line. He also had just two assists against two turnovers.

He was far from the only poor performer for the Raptors, though. Jonas Valanciunas and Luis Scola were gassed less than four minutes into the game and their inability to keep up in transition allowed Nuggets center Nikola Jokic to explode for 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting.

The Raptors' ordinarily effective one-two bench combination of Cory Joseph and Patrick Patterson were also ineffectual. Joseph had seven points on 2-of-8 shooting and Patterson hit just one three on five wide-open looks from deep.

Lowry and the Raptors will look to start another streak when they take on the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.
