Sampdoria signs Fabio Quagliarella from Torino

Fabio Quagliarella is going back to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Sampdoria announced the loan signing of the veteran Italian striker Monday, bringing aboard the 33-year-old from Torino in a deal that includes a mandatory clause to make the transfer permanent.

Quagliarella, who scored five goals in 16 appearances for Torino this season, will rejoin a club with whom he found the net 14 times in 2006-07.
"Quagliarella picked up 42 appearances and 14 goals in competitive fixtures during his first spell at the club in 2006-07 and has opted to wear shirt No.27," Sampdoria announced in a brief statement.
