Misfiring Udinese signs Ryder Matos from Fiorentina
Udinese boss Franco Soldati has bolstered his largely uninspiring attacking ranks by signing Ryder Matos from Fiorentina.
The 22-year-old Brazilian moves for an undisclosed fee following a loan spell at Carpi, putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year contract.
Udinese currently sits 15th in Serie A, with a goal tally of 19, which is only higher than that of bottom-placed Hellas Verona. While Matos doesn't exactly bring a goal-scoring pedigree to the Stadio Friuli, he does offer some penetration going forward with his pace and dribbling ability.
He joins fellow January buys Emil Hallfredsson, who signed with Udinese on Saturday, and FC Basel loanee Zdravko Kuzmanovic.
The Bianconeri Friulani failed to get on the scoresheet in a 0-0 draw against Lazio on Sunday, and returns to action at Empoli on Wednesday.
