Vin Scully hasn't just cemented his name in the history books of the Los Angeles Dodgers as a legendary broadcaster, he's also getting his very own street to the team's stadium.

Los Angeles city council unanimously passed a motion Friday to change the name of Elysian Park Avenue - the street that leads directly to Dodger Stadium's main entrance - to Vin Scully Avenue.

"I am overwhelmed," Scully said after the vote passed. "I was raised in the streets of New York and to have a street named after me in Los Angeles is almost too much to comprehend. A path to Dodger Stadium is a path way to my heart."

Dodger Stadium's address will become 1000 Vin Scully Avenue when the name change takes effect after a 30-day waiting period.

Scully, whose fabled voice has graced the airwaves for 66 seasons, is known for some of the most historic calls in baseball history. He will enter his final year in the broadcast booth during the 2016 campaign.
