Bruins' Gustavsson discharged after undergoing tests for elevated heart rate

Boston Bruins backup Jonas Gustavsson exited Tuesday's game versus the Anaheim Ducks after experiencing an elevated heart rate, the team confirmed Wednesday.

The Bruins backup was taken to hospital and has since been released after tests came back negative. He's expected to rejoin the club after the All-Star break.

Boston's medical staff will undergo its own evaluation before clearing him for action, however.

Gustavsson has a history of cardiac issues, having previously underwent procedures to deal with irregular heartbeats.
