Boldin curious about Kelly's plans for 49ers' offense

Anquan Boldin doesn't know if he'll be a part of Chip Kelly's offense next season, but he is curious to see what the new San Francisco 49ers head coach has up his sleeve.

The veteran wide receiver, who's set to become a free agent in March, has spoken to Kelly since he arrived in town, but the two weren't able to discuss football-related matters due restrictions in the collective bargaining agreement.

"I talked to him when he got hired," Boldin said Tuesday during a conference call, per Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. "He called me. We had a brief conversation. He introduced himself to me, and we talked for a little bit. And that was that."

Defensive end Arik Armstead is the only player on the 49ers' current roster who has played for Kelly before, so Boldin isn't the only one who's interested in the coach's plans.

"I think everybody is," Boldin said. "I think it's always that way when you have a new coach coming in. Everybody is curious about a number of different things, so we'll see how that plays out."

As for his own future, Boldin said he's not interested in discussing it right now.

"I'll cross that bridge when it's that time," he said. "And we'll see what happens. I haven't talked to anybody, yet. Honestly, I'm not to the point where I feel like I have to deal with that right now. I'll deal with it when the time comes. But, right now, that's not something that's on my plate."
